Overview
ProTimer is a cloud-based time and attendance system for small and medium-sized businesses in Switzerland. It records working hours, breaks, overtime and night work, manages holidays and absences with approval workflows, and covers expenses and shift planning. Industry versions implement the collective labour agreements of restaurants (L-GAV), petrol station shops, bakeries, painters and plasterers and timber construction, and a garage version connects to SwissGarage.
Employees clock in on touch, fingerprint or badge terminals that ProTimer designs and assembles itself, or through apps for iOS, Android and Windows; administrators work in the browser on PC, Mac or tablet. Optional modules add project and service recording and a payroll module that can also be used on its own. Payroll data can be exported to Abacus, SwissSalary, Topal and Mirus.
The software has been developed since 1997, and ProTimer GmbH was founded in 2001. In August 2025 the company was sold to Vierwald Software AG in Rotkreuz as a succession arrangement, with the founder remaining managing director. Prices are published in CHF excluding VAT and depend on the number of employees.
