Overview
Subsign is a web portal for signing documents with qualified electronic signatures (QES) and sealing them with advanced electronic seals. It covers both the Swiss (ZertES) and EU (eIDAS) legal frameworks; signatures and seals are issued by Swisscom Trust Services AG, whose terms users must also accept. Signers need a one-time identification, and invited parties can sign without creating an account. The portal targets law firms, notaries, tax advisers, real-estate companies and HR departments.
Subsign was developed by Object ECM AG in Zurich, a company that otherwise implements document management, capture and workflow projects, often based on Alfresco. OBJECT states that Subsign uses only components and services from Switzerland and runs in a Swiss data centre built to FINMA requirements and certified to ISO 27001; the operator of the data centre is not named.
Pricing is based on annual packages with a fixed number of signatures or seals per legal area (Switzerland or EU), rather than per-user subscriptions. The smallest Swiss packages are limited to one to three users.
