Overview
Hostpoint is a web hosting provider based in Rapperswil-Jona. Its portfolio includes shared web hosting with WordPress and other one-click applications, domain registration, email and Cloud Office mailboxes, a website builder, webshops and managed servers. In 2013 Hostpoint became the first Swiss domain registrar accredited by ICANN; it reports managing more than 1.3 million domains.
Customer web, email and database data is stored on Hostpoint’s own servers in the Digital Realty data centre in Glattbrugg near Zurich. The facility operator is a US-owned company. Hostpoint states that some components of the integrated SEO tool rankingCoach are the only exception to storage in Switzerland.
Prices are listed in CHF including VAT, and web hosting can be tested for 30 days free of charge. The website and support are available in German, French, Italian and English.
