Overview
Topal is accounting software for fiduciaries (Treuhand) and small and medium-sized businesses in Switzerland. The base package of Topal Finanzbuchhaltung covers financial accounting for two users and five clients, with modules for debtors and creditors, budgeting, cost centres, foreign currencies, consolidation and an unlimited number of clients. Topal Payroll is Swissdec 5.0 certified and posts payroll runs directly into the financial accounting. Banking is connected via EBICS and ISO 20022, and QR-bills are read automatically.
For collaboration between fiduciaries and their clients, Topal offers the browser-based WebSolution, the Topalino client licence and a free iOS and Android app for photographing receipts. A REST API and XML interfaces connect other business software. According to its swiss made software profile, the software is built with C# and .NET on Microsoft SQL Server; system requirements are not published on the Topal website.
Topal is sold as a perpetual licence with an optional annual maintenance contract or as a monthly rental, largely through sales and solution partners. The published price lists are dated 2022 and 2023. Topal reports more than 4,000 customers. Part of the development and maintenance work is carried out by subcontractors in Armenia and Ukraine.
